Publikacje

The publication is a comprehensive monograph of stay, about 6 thousand of Warsaw insurgents in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. It is written on the basis of the museum collections and archives, national and international documentations, historical books and memory books. The publication brings a variety of issues, ranging from the arrival of the insurgents to the camp, conditions and treatment they found there, until their evacuation at the beginning of 1945. The book analyzes the attitude of the POW insurgents to the reality of the camp, including the attempts to organize cultural and educational, sports and religious life and mutual relations. The publication shows various insurgent groups, as in the camp – next to the adult male soldiers, were also juveniles and women. Finally, the book presents profiles of many celebrities who have gone down in Polish history. The book is enhance with interesting and previously unpublished illustrative material.
