„Łambinowicki Rocznik Muzealny”, Volume 37

Volume number 37 of  "The Łambinowice Museum Yearbook " is a special edition, becausethe year of 2015, in which the journal is published, it is particularly especially important for the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice-Opole. 50 years have passed since the establishment of this institution, and 70 years since the end of World War II. The articles included in the latest volume of ŁMY opens an article abouta defiant pre-war cavalry officer Brigadier General Jerzy Grobicki, the survivor of the Katyn massacre. Many readers could find interesting the text about courts of honor of Polish prisoners-of-war in Oflags. Local, Silesian accent in the Yearbook can be found in the article about prisoners-of-war and interned civilians in Kreuzburgu (Kluczbork) between 1939-1945. Another article presents the latest findings of German researchers on the issue of Soviet prisoners-of-war in the Wehrmachtcaptivity. Additionally, we present a very valuable collection of wartime correspondence between Andrzej and Krystyna Mystkowscy from the collection of our museum, and the memories of his time in captivity of soldier Zbigniew Makowiecki. Also it is worth to read the prospect of the granddaughter of General Bernard Stanisław Monda, focused on his character as well an interesting text presenting the silhouette of a meritorious investigator of prisoner-of war’s issues – Gracjan Bojar-Fijałkowski.
