Wilanów: Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska is on Museum Council
The first meeting of the newly elected Museum Council was held at the Museum of King John III's Palace at Wilanów on 18 October. Among its members is the director of our Museum, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska.
The Council is appointed by order of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for a term of four years. Minister Hanna Wróblewska came to the inaugural meeting to present the Council members with their letters of appointment.
The current term of office will last until August 2028, during which time the Council will meet - according to the needs of the institution to which the Council is attached, but no less than once a year. This is necessary so that, on the basis of the annual report, the museum's activities can be evaluated and its plan for the following year approved.
The group of persons who have been awarded the social function of supporting the Museum of King John III's Palace with their knowledge and competence for four years, consists of 15 people. Among them are experts in museology and cultural heritage, such as: Alicja Knast - director of National Gallery in Prague, Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik - director of the International Cultural Centre in Kraków and Prof. Hanna Schreiber from the University of Warsaw. There are also culture managers (Paweł Rafał Potoroczyn), artists and academics (Prof. Błażej Ostoja Lniski) or scientists with specialist knowledge of, for instance, dendrometry - so necessary in view of the park surrounding the Wilanów Palace.
Apart from the Director of our Museum, another representative of the Opole Province on the Museum Council is Jarosław Gałęza, an ethnographer and museum professional with extensive managerial experience, who has been the Director of the Museum of the Opole Village for over 30 years.
