Summer exhibition in Łambinowice

The exhibition ‘I love You, see You…’, displayed at the Museum's seat in Łambinowice, can be viewed almost until the end of the summer holidays. Its opening took place in Opole on 14 March this year, and as the exhibition brings to our attention a very interesting subject, and has received a lot of praise, we thought it worth making it available to our local audience before it goes any further.

‘I love You, see You…’ not only contains display boards with textual and iconographic messages, so typical for portable exhibitions, but also carefully selected exhibits. The vast majority of them are objects from our collections, but not only - thanks to cooperation with the families of former prisoners-of-war, and their courtesy, we also present private memorabilia. More importantly, a lot of interesting information about the fate of loved ones who were separated by captivity also reached us in this way - through personal contacts. And now, thanks to the exhibition, we can share their stories with a larger audience.

The theme should be of interest to almost everyone, as ‘I love You, see You...’ raises issues that one knows either from their own experience or indirectly, through conversations with relatives and friends or via family stories. But also from culture - after all, the subject of love has always been a great driving force for creators of art and literature. We, in turn, have dealt with this universal feeling from the historical side, showing how different shades it took on in relation to war and captivity.

Admission to the exhibition is free and it is available during the museum's opening hours - until 25 August 2024. Groups (from just a few people) can also take part in educational workshops accompanying the exhibition - details here: tel. 77 43 43 475 / 573 785 901, .
