"Prayer of Peace" is once again in Łambinowice
On 1 September, at 5 p.m., marking the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War, a unique event will take place at the St Mary Magdalene Church in Łambinowice. The Prayer of Peace - a concert initiated by the CMJW in 2019 - will once again direct our thoughts towards the victims not only of the Second World War, but also of contemporary armed conflicts.
The male vocal ensemble Kairos will perform Orthodox church chants, liturgical Armenian, Georgian and Greek music at the concert. The concert will be followed by an opening of the exhibition Order and Annihilation. The Police in Nazi Germany at the Museum building in Łambinowice.
The event is organised by the Parish of St. Mary Magdalene in Łambinowicach and the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War. The concert is under the patronage of the Bishop of Opole Diocese Andrzej Czaja.
