Our travelling exhibitions are hosted in Poznań and Dresden

We have recently seen a flurry of activity in presenting travelling exhibitions: our exhibition ‘The End and the Beginning. The Warsaw Insurgents in the German captivity’ went to Dresden, while the exhibition ‘Lamsdorf/Łambinowice. Archaeology at the Site of Remembrance’ was taken to Poznań.

The first exhibition was followed to the capital of Saxony on 5 October by the deputy director, Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła. Her speech at the opening was of a slightly different nature than usual, as it took the form of a longer lecture on the fate of Polish prisoners-of-war held since autumn 1944 in stalags and oflags, in particular those located in Saxony, e.g. Hohnstein, Zeithain or Colditz. The event was organised by the German-Polish Society of Saxony eV and the Kraszewski-Museum with the support of the Münchner-Platz-Komitees eV. The exhibition is on view at the Kraszewski-Museum until 3 November 2024.

On the other hand, the opening of the exhibition ‘Lamsdorf/Łambinowice. Archaeology at the Site of Remembrance’ took place on 9 October in the Library of the Faculty of History of the Adam Mickiewicz University. Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska – accompanied by Prof. Michał Pawleta, who is both a co-author of the exhibition (alongside Dr. Dawid Kobiałka and Dr. Kamil Karski) and researcher at the Adam Mickiewicz University – introduced the theme of the exhibition. It will be presented in Poznań until 2 December.
