Let us meet on 1 August

On that day there will be marked the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. Ceremonies commemorating the first day of the Warsaw insurrection are planned to be held throughout Poland.

As always, our Museum joins the nationwide tribute to the male and female participants in the uprising, but on 1 August we do so in a modest, thought reflecting setting and not at the customary 5 p.m., but - in keeping with our tradition - before noon.

We will meet at 11.00 a.m. in front of the Monument to the Warsaw Insurgents - Prisoners-Of-War of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, and as every year, we invite all those who are able to join us. Together, we will lay flowers and light candles in front of the stone symbol of the POW captivity of the Warsaw insurgents who arrived at Lamsdorf in October 1944, and where they still had to fight for survival, albeit in a different way.

On the other hand, a solemn ceremony with interesting accompanying events will be organised on 7 October this year. We will then commemorate the 80th anniversary of the arrival of the first transport of Warsaw insurgents at Stalag 344 Lamsdorf.

We welcome your presence!
