CMJW’s collections have expanded

A considerable set of POW correspondence has expanded the Museum's collection. Among the set of 30 items, a particularly valuable constitutes a postcard sent from Ilag VII Laufen - an internment camp to hold civilians.

The donation was given by Szymon Bagrowski from Poznań, who built up his collection by bidding at online auctions. The Museum got in touch with him after he announced on the Facebook Group ‘Tropiciele Historii (History Trackers)’ his intention to donate memorabilia to a relevant institution. As he had attached photographs to the information, verifying their compatibility with the strategy of expanding the collections of the CMJW was no longer a difficult task.

Thanks to the received POW letter sheets and postcards, the Museum acquired a new tangible evidence of the captivity of more than 20 prisoners-of-war held mainly in stalags and oflags.

Many thanks to Mr. Szymon Bagrowski for his contribution and the trust he placed in us!
