Anna Filasińska-Bojarska has passed away
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna Filasińska-Bojarska (born on 24 January 1940 in Lubraniec). She was a long-time worker of our Museum, who for over three decades worked with passion, knowledge and commitment to create the archival resources of the CMJW.
Ms. Ania, as we called her, started her professional path with our Museum in 1966, shortly after she graduated in history and archival science from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and worked with us until her retirement in 1998. Being responsible for one of the most important department of the Museum, the archive, she was among those who built the institution from scratch. Ms. Ania's knowledge, her perseverance, as well as her ease in establishing contacts and her persistence in persuading former prisoners to donate objects from their captivity to the Museum contributed to the creation of the most significant portion of its archival collection.
Ms. Ania's commitment to the Museum seemed to be infinite. She stayed in touch with us as long as her health permitted, participated in museum events, supported us as a member of the Association of Friends of the CMJW - always charming, warm, smiling, curious about the world and people, and very dedicated to the Museum and all of us working here.
Ms. Ania, we will miss you.
We offer our deepest condolences to the family for their loss.
