We would like to invite you to the commemorations of the 80^th anniversary of the arrival of the first transport of Warsaw Insurgents in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. They are organised by us on 6 October 2024 in Łambinowice.

This year's commemorations will be held in three places. We will begin them at 4.00 p.m., by laying flowers and lighting candles at the Monument to the Warsaw Insurgents – POWs of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf .

Then, at 5 p.m., at the St Mary Magdalene Church in Łambinowice, a unique concert will be performed, Reverberations 1944. From Warsaw to Lamsdorf. It will be the first public presentation of a musical composition dedicated to the Warsaw insurgents who were held in the Lamsdorf camp. The work of music was composed by Szymon Chyliński, a composer and arranger who has been commissioned to write music on many occasions. The libretto for the work was written by Leszek Zdun. The musical work was written for two solo voices, recitations, choir and orchestra in mind. The soloists who will perform are:

• Justyna Jabłonowska – as the soprano
• Filip Cieszyński- as the baritone
• Recitations: Leszek Zduń oraz Magdalena Gleba.

The soloists will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra and choir conducted by Tomasz Chyła.

The concert will be followed by the official opening of the Museum of the Second World War’s exhibition, The Face of Courage. Witold Pilecki (1901-1948). The exhibition is a biographical installation, which shows the fate of Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki in several sequences and offers a modern interpretation of his person.
