For many years the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War has been recognized and awarded as an institution of culture which runs a unique activity on the national and European scale. Both the permanent exhibitions and the temporary ones are highly appreciated and the activities, among others, in the spheres of education, popularization of the multicultural heritage of Opole Region are esteemed. So are research and scientific works published by members of the personnel. Among the authors, there are the following: Prof. Edmund Nowak, Dr. Wojciech Półchłopek, Dr. Małgorzata Klasicka, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła and Dr. Piotr Stanek. Recently, the Museum has been awarded a highly prestigious gold medal of “Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis” by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in recognition of its fifty-year activity. - Dr Piotr Stanek, head of the Department of Science and Research was awarded the Medal "Pro Patria"
- Museum received a nomination in a competition for the prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage - Sibyl Museum Event of the Year 2013 for the permanent exhibition After the war. Labor Camp in Łambinowice (1945-1946)
2013
- Museum received the "Bridges of Dialogue 2013" award in the category of Institutions. It is a prize awarded in the plebiscite whose goal is to honor people, institutions and non-governmental organizations, who for years - despite many historical adversities and prejudices, have been caring about the multicultural heritage of Opole province.
- Museum received a nomination in a competition for the prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage - Sibyl Museum Event of the Year 2013 for the permanent exhibition I the German captivity.
- Dr Renata Kobylarz-Bula, deputy director at the museum, received a badge of honor For merits for Opole province
- Dr Piotr Stanek, head of the Department of Science and Research and Andrew Prajel, a worker of the Department of Education and Exhibitions were awarded the Silver Medal of a Guardian of the Places of National Remembrance.
- Dr Joanna Lusek, a worker of the Department of Science and Research, received a scholarship at the Georg Eckert Institute in Braunschweig. 2012
- Golden Copernicus Award at the Third EDUKINO Educational Film Festival in Warsaw for an educational film of the Museum Lamsdorf / Łambinowice. Museum and Site of Remembrance by Alicja Schatton
- Scientific journal museum "Łambinowicki Museum Yearbook", by a decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, is on a MSHE Master Journal List
- Dr Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, director of the Museum, received an award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage
- Dr Renata Kobylarz-Bula, deputy director at the museum, received the Medal "Pro Memoria", awarded by the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression
- Dr Piotr Stanek, head of the Department of Science and Research, received the first prize in the Wladyslaw Pobóg-Malinowski Competition organized by the Institute of National Remembrance and the Institute of Polish History (of Academy of Sciences) for the Best Historical Debut of the Year 2011 for his doctoral thesis "Korboński (1901-1989). Political and social activity"
- Róża Bednorz, a historian, journalist, social activist and former longtime worker of the Museum and still a member of the Editorial Board of "Łambinowicki Museum Yearbook" was rewarded the Karol Miarka Prize.
